1½  cup firmly packed brown sugar
¾ cup  butter or margarine
¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
10 slices French bread slices cut 1½ inch thick
4 large eggs
2½ cups milk

¼ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
Garnish:  any type fresh berries (makes it feel more healthy)

Stir together first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat and cook stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until mixture is bubbly.  Pour mixture in lightly greased 13 x 9 baking dish.  Arrange bread slices over syrup. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt.  Gradually pour over bread slices.

Cover and chill 8 hours.

Stir together granulated sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle evenly over bread.  Drizzle evenly with 1/4 cup of melted butter.

Bake at 350 degree oven for 45 - 50 minutes or until golden and bubbly.  Let stand 5 minutes before serving.  Garnish if desired.
